Our Discount Natural Gas Smokers Online Selection
The most common gas smokers available today are Propane Gas. Natural Gas smokers are harder to find. However don’t let that discourage you from wanting a natural gas smoker. Almost all of the manufactures of propane gas smokers that I display on my site sell a conversion kit.
Converting a propane gas smoker to natural gas is definitely worth the time and cost. But before you convert a propane gas smoker to natural gas, you will need to have an accessible source of natural gas for your gas smoker with a quick disconnect connector.
Propane gas is stored in a container under much pressure. Therefore the orifices that control the propane gas flow in your smoker have a smaller opening. The smaller orifice allows the proper flow of propane gas to escape to the burner and ignite. If you connect a propane gas smoker fitted with propane orifices to a natural gas supply, the pressure in the natural gas line is much lower and an insufficient quantity of natural gas would escape the orifice. Not enough to ignite properly. There needs to be a larger orifice for sufficient natural gas to escape to the burner to ignite properly.
Most propane gas smoker manufacturers will offer a natural gas orifice for your model. Look up your manufactures website for more details on ordering a natural gas conversion kit for your smoker. Usually the conversion kits come with detailed directions with the new natural gas orifices.
